        Social Harmony and Development Organization is working on various programs during the past years, although it is difficult to run the programs
        by having limited resources, but still the Organization managed to keep the programs operative and functional, which provided great deal of help
        and assistance to the needy and poorer section of our community which needs lot of attention and love. Following are the programs which we are
        running for the development of the community mentioned as below;

 

          Social Harmony Program


        Social Harmony is a new concept which is being introduced by Christian Study Centre, Rawalpindi-Pakistan by forming Social Harmony and
        Development Organization in district Sialkot. SHADO have a talented staff, which grasp the techniques of the program easily by attending various
        training sessions organized by Christian Study Centre. The main focus of Social Harmony is to eradicate prejudices, discrimination, narrow
        mindedness, intolerance, unfairness and injustice in the community i.e. Muslims and Minorities. However, SHADO has managed to achieve the
        goal for which the Social Harmony Program was launched in Sialkot and made numerous organizations its members who included the new topic of
        Social Harmony in their objective and now spreading the concept easily and diligently among the community and creating peace in the community.

 

         Free Health Facility For the Poor Community Members


        Social Harmony and Development Organization (SHADO) is also very concerned in the health of the community members, especially of women and
        children and for such reason have organized one free health care centre in the target area where SHADO is concentrating now a days.

 
        However, this type of programs needs lots of resources and financial assistance, but Social Harmony and Development Organization has started
        this program with the financial assistance of Texas Christian Community, USA and so far managed to provide free health care facilities to the most 
        deserving and needy community member of the target area. Moreover, we need more assistance in this respect to keep the program operative and
        functional, so that the poor community under our care may get a chance to avail health preventive facility near their door step and if not, within
        their residential area.

 

          Free Books Distribution Program

 

         Social Harmony and Development Organization has a very active Board who is also concerned about the education of the children especially poor
         and needy children. Therefore, the members have drafted a program for distributing free course books to the most deserving and needy children
         who are willing to continue their education but are unable to buy books due to their parents poor financial situation.

 

         However, this is a very useful program, which Social Harmony and Development Organization has implemented with its own resources and needs
         further assistance in this respect to increase the number of the children, and to keep the program operative.

 

           Free Food Distribution Program

 

         Social Harmony and Development Organization is also concerned for the community members who are living below the poverty line and needs
         urgent help and assistance. Keeping in view the devastating position of the poor community, the management of SHADO requested Texas
         Christian Community, USA to provide funds for this urgent program. Most graciously Texas Christian Community, USA provided funds for the
         program and SHADO implemented the program, however, the funds are not enough to keep the program operative and functional. Therefore,
         we are in need of financial assistance for Free Food Distribution Program for the most deserving community members of our beloved area and
         country.

 

           Women Rights Awareness Programs;

 

          Social Harmony and Development Organization is conducted various Women Rights Awareness Training Program in Sialkot and surrounding
          villages. Seekers International, UK and WDP-Germany provided financial assistance to start and implement this program in Sialkot, as it is the
          need of the area. Social Harmony and Development Organization has chosen this tough subject, as women community of our area and country
          are mostly illiterate and are not fully aware about their rights given to them in the religion and even in the constitution of Pakistan. However, it is
          a challenging work and we are quite confident that the program will bring positive change in the thinking of the male and female community.
          Social Harmony and Development Organization needs more funds to keep this valuable program effective and make it worth while for the
          community development.

 

           Street Theater;

 

          Social Harmony and Development Organization has a trained team who actively participate in the street plays organized for the awareness of
          community members. The theme of the play are made mostly on social issues and being fully discussed within the team and various rehearsals is
          being done regularly, so that the message which we plans to convey may directly touched the hearts of the community members. However, we
          are doing this activity with the support of our donors and some local donors, who are gracious enough to help SHADO to do community mind
          building programs in various streets, villages, busties and slum areas of Sialkot. Moreover, efforts are being done to get more funds, so that the
          program of street play should continue, which help the community members to learn and grasp the information in a friendly manner.

 

            Rehabilitation of Disabled Children;

 

          Social Harmony and Development Organization (SHADO) started the Rehabilitation of Disabled Children program with the financial assistance of
          Stichting Liliane Fonds, The Netherlands. The main objective of the program is to provide operation, braces facility to the children in which all the 
          expenses are bared by the organization, and even provide school fees the disabled children who are attending school regularly and wishes to
          continue there education. SHADO has provided operation facility to four children, Income Generation Support to one disabled children, braces to
          5-disabled children and school fees to almost 7-children. The program is being implemented very professionally and the services being provided to
          the disabled children were according to the health standards. SHADO is very positive in expanding the program and wishes to support a larger
          number of disabled children and will request our donor to help and assist SHADO to continue its program.
