SHADO HOME

Social Harmony and Development Organization is a civil grass root non- governmental organization working on the basic of social/human needs and empowerment in urban and rural areas of District Sialkot. At SHADO, women and men are working together successfully for SHADO’s for achieving the mission and goals of SHADO. It is serving community without any discrimination of religion, belief, caste and creed and having strong sensitivity. It came into existence in the year 1999. The capacity building of the staff was done by the Christian Study Center.

Social Harmony and Development Organization envisions creating peace and harmony in the society which is indulged into various inhuman activities and the peace and tolerance between them is totally vanished and with the efforts of Social Harmony and Development Organization we will create peace and harmony in the society. Further our mission is to provide financial help to the poor of the poorest community so they may come out of the bondage of poverty to lead a respectable life in this world. We are very positive that we can make a difference and things will change if efforts are taken and our main vision is to make special efforts to eradicate the problems from the society.

SHADO is working for creating peace and harmony among the society. We are working on other social issues and problems like, strong Women Rights Awareness Training Programs and services for women and girls and promote solid values of human rights and social justice and focus on family and community development, Health Programs, Distribution of Books to poor students, and literacy programs as well.

Social Harmony and Development Organization, SHADO is also the member of the Women United Nation Report Network, (WUNRN). SHADO with the collaboration of WUNRN managed to conduct a two-day national level workshop in Sialkot. The workshop was based of Status of Women in the view point of Religion and Belief. The workshop was a great success and the donors of the workshop personally attended and conducted the program along with the SHADO. The workshop was attendant by multiple sectors of society – Non-Governmental Organizations, Civil Society, Academia, Religious Groups, Government Department, Professional Associations, Business and Students.

SHADO is also providing rehabilitation facilities to the disabled children for the last few years and are very positive to extend support to increase number of children in other areas of district Sialkot.

The Active and outstanding cooperation of staff and volunteers helped the organization to grow and a good number of community members are being provided assistance and guidance to cone out of the bondage of poverty and deprivation.

All project activities mentioned above are being financially supported by local, national, & international dimensions who are satisfied with the working of the organization and they are ready to extend their support for the support of increased number of beneficiaries.
